CASE

Operating in Africa with EGP, the consulting company created in Angola by the Geoproviders founder, several projects were executed in Angola, São Tomé e Principe, and Mozambique, mainly on land or nearshore.

TASK

On behalf of our client´s projects, we advised on alternative solutions for design and construction methodologies adapted to the difficulties of executing engineering in Africa.
Some examples of the works carried out are as follows:

• Validation and risk analysis of the design and harbour structure already built in the marine pier Marina Baía in Luanda and the oceanic break waves steel and concrete structure.

• Managing all phases of the Geotechnical Investigation, from tender to site works supervision, for constructing a Mini-Hydric in Kwanza Sul in Angola.

• Supervise the Geotechnical Investigation works, offshore and onshore, to construct a Marina in Chicala, Luanda, Angola.

• Supervision of four (4) viaducts for INEA (Angolan Road Institute) on Angola’s road between Huambo and Lubango.

• Economic and Technical study of the foundations for the Tender of the new harbour in Nacala, Mozambique.

• Reporting on the preliminary study, the technical and economic viability of establishing an Angolan foundation company for offshore and onshore works in Luanda.

• Execution of the engineering process that led to the construction of a swimming pool partially in the sea at the Santana Resort beach in São Tomé e Príncipe Islands.

RESULTS

We adapted to the lack of resources common in Africa, providing good results to our clients throughout the different projects.
